The American Silver Eagle is a one-ounce bullion coin with a face value of one dollar. The obverse has a modified rendition of Adolph A. Weinman's Liberty Walking design used on half dollars from 1916 through 1947. The reverse design from 1986 to early 2021 is a heraldic eagle by John Mercanti. A new Flying Eagle design by Emily Damstra was introduced in late 2021. This is the type 1 Heraldic Eagle of 2021.
